Books with Bite: Teen Read Week 2008

National Teen Read Week is coming right up this October 12th through 18th. In keeping with this year’s theme, Books with Bite, we’ll be having a party on Tuesday, October 14th from 6:00 -7:30 for teens with crafts, games and snacks all with a “bitey” theme. There will also be computers available at this time for voting for this year’s Teen Top Ten booklist! Hope you’ll drop in and have some fun. All teens in grades 6 – 12 are welcome!

Teen Gaming

Movie Showing 8/15!

Teens, please join us for a movie showing Friday, August 15 at 2:00 PM in the community room at the library. Call Brooke at 284-4181 to find out what will be showing this month! Free snacks, too.

Talk Books and Play Guitar Hero!

Teens, please join us at the next Summer Reading Club activity where you can talk about your favorite books or other reading material on camera, and/or play some Guitar Hero III. Wednesday, July 30, 2008 from 2-3 PM at McArthur. Hope to see you there!

More Gaming at the Library

 

Thanks to all who have attended gaming nights in February and March! I’ve been impressed by your mad Guitar Hero and Dance, Dance, Revolution skills and was glad to see that old favorites like Scattergories, Boggle, and Chess are still, well, old favorites.

The next gaming events will be held during April school vacation. I’m hoping that even more of you will join in. I’ll post more detailed information about where and when as the time gets closer!
